This is our Introduction to Kitesurfing Package.. This prep package is highly recommended as an entry preparation point for complete kitesurfing beginners, as it covers all essential kitesurfing theory and provides for basic kite control skills.

This Kitesurfing Prep Package also provides a nice foundation to ensure beginner kiteboarding students will get the most out of their hands-on NJ Kitesurfing Lessons (with one of our IKO Certified Kitesurfing Instructors in our Phase-1 Kiteboarding Lessons). Kiteboarding beginners at any stage will also benefit from this information packed "Phase-0" Kitesurfing Preparation Self-Study package, and may also be a good idea to start over "the right way" if started with poor lessons or improper kitesurfing instruction received elsewhere.

This self study & self practice phase involves watching & studying thorough kitesurfing theory from the Progression Beginner DVD and IKO Student Handbook print manual, then practicing with a small foil trainer kite until basic kite control is mastered and basic kite theory understood..

Warning: Phase-0 Kitesurfing Self Study Package does not replace 'Hands-On' Kitesurfing Instruction with a Licensed Instructor. It is only intended as a Kitesurfing Introduction Preparation Tool (allowing better utilization of time spent in actual instructor/student kitesurfing hands-on lessons). **Practicing kitesurfing without proper lessons/instructions is extremely dangerous and may cause severe injury or death to pilot and/or surrounding bystanders..

**Phase0 Self Study is not required to take our Phase 1 Hands On Lessons, but can be helpful for a more productive hands-on lesson, as we can move quickly through basic theory and basic trainer kite flying depending on knowledge & experience level at time of lesson -we will fill in the blanks and focus on any unknown or weak areas during your hands-on lessons).

**If not comfortable flying the trainer kite alone for the first time, a 2-3hour intro land based Kitesurfing Trainer Kite Lesson is available with trainer kite purchase - Covers kitesurfing theory, safety, spot assessment, rigging, launching/lading, flight handling and more depending on individual abilities - Land based intro lesson uses smaller trainer kites at local beach location like Sandy Hook, NJ - 1 to 4 students per lesson..

- All Lessons with WindBone Kiteboarding are provided by IKO Certified Instructor, Includes IKO Student Handbook, and IKO Member/Level Card is issued at end of lesson stage (IKO Card validates/certifies student level achievement and allows for international kiteboarding level recognition for gear rental, insurance, etc..)

- island/water locations (utilized in our Kitesurfing Lesson Phases 1 and up) allows direct progression into water exercises and/or next levels once prior levels completed)

Booking/Scheduling:

- Lessons are available on a daily basis (dependent upon wind/forecast for respective lesson stages), our boat is in the water for the season down in Waretown, NJ and we are fully operational --just may yet need a wetsuit for water/boat access lessons..

- Scheduling for lessons depends on booking order and wind/forecast with daily options.. Once a lesson option/package is purchased, student is placed into the queue for next available windy lesson day ..weekend bookings can back up a few weeks or more in the peak summer months, where weekday bookings/wind tend to offer a bit more flexibility if one has a flexible schedule..
